Critics say the back-to-back hits show how Boston’s luxury district has become open season for thieves, with repeat offenders and flash-mobs testing a system they believe won’t stop them.
Under Mayor Michelle Wu’s progressive leadership, Boston has leaned into “reimagined public safety.” Meanwhile, thieves are “reimagining” retail — treating high-end stores like open closets while shoppers and workers watch helplessly.
Two hits. One hour. Same brand. Same neighborhood.
